OMF format support?

  Description

The Borland / Embarcadero compilers (C++ Builder, RAD Studio, Delphi) require external libraries or .obj files to be in the OMF format.
Any plans to add OMF output format support to YASM?

It's planned, but been low on the priority list to date, mostly for lack of demand. Also, what does Borland use for 64-bit targets? Is there a 64-bit version of OMF? (not that this is a blocker for implementing 16-bit and 32-bit OMF)

Embarcadero (which took over the Borland compiler series and continues to develop them) seems not yet to have come up with a 64 bit version. Frankly, I have no idea, if there is at all something like a 64-bit OMF.
However, unless an application really needs to access more than 2 or 4 GB of RAM, 64 bit is not good for everybody (e.g., many algorithms work better and faster on the FPU with its inherently high accuracy than with the SSE commands which have become the only choice in WIN64 applications), and the Embarcadero tools have some very nice features making them still a decent rival to Microsoft. Therefore, 32-bit OMF output suitable for Delphi and C++ Builder components/libraries would still be very much appreciated.

OS/2 also uses OMF natively, mostly flat 32 bit. It would be nice to have yasm output useable object files as many projects are using yasm.
