Campuses, particularly US campuses

Reported by TommyFisher | December 6th, 2018 @ 08:31 AM

Campuses, particularly US campuses are intellectually and culturally diverse. The nature of academic research is that it is intrinsically broad and is a global undertaking. That brings researchers and students into contact with a wide range of perspectives and cultures - which is essential for both discovery and invention. You can't be a reactionary, science-denying, xenophobe and thrive on campus, and that's where the right has largely gone. To be effective, universities have to be liberal in the 'liberal education' sense of the word - even if you reach conservative conclusions which many do.
